WSS: Crutchlow fastest again at Imola

Cal Crutchlow topped his third session in a row as he continued to command a comfortable advantage over his World Supersport Championship rivals at Imola.

The British rider maintained his advantage over closest challenger Kenan Sofuoglu around the Italian circuit, lowering his best time to 1min 52.285secs to emerge four tenths up on the Turk.

The top three were unchanged from the end of day one, with Eugene Laverty maintaining is position in third but still proving a significant seventh tenths adrift of his key rival for the title.

Garry McCoy and Triumph were able to make decent gains, however, rising to fourth to displace Fabien Foret, Andrew Pitt and Mark Aitchison. Miguel Praia, Anthony West and Danilo Dell'Omo followed on their respective Hondas.

Elsewhere, Sam Lowes continued to make improvements on the Echo CRS Honda to go 12th best, while Sheridan Morais made a welcome appearance for the BE1 Racing Triumph team, albeit with the 15th and slowest time.
