Cal Crutchlow was satisfied with his performance during the annual World Supersport mid-season test at Imola, even if he wasn't able to extend his dominance through to the end of the two days.

Crutchlow was in fine form during three of the four sessions, proving several tenths quicker than his closest competitors, only for Kenan Sofuoglu to usurp him during the final outing and claim the spoils.

Nonetheless, having smashed the Supersport lap record in testing at Brno a week earlier and opting for a conservative tyre strategy at Imola, Crutchlow had good reason to be confident as his title challenge reaches a critical point.

"It's been really good for me to come here and learn the circuit, I didn't use anywhere near as many tyres as some of the other riders so was really happy with the times I've managed to put in. I'm looking forward to coming back and racing here. I also had a good run in Brno last week, great to get the lap record and I'm really excited about racing there next week."
