Ben Spies began race day at Brno as he means to go on by claiming the fastest time during warm-up for the tenth round of the World Superbike Championship.
The pole sitter was the only rider to break two minutes during the short session, his closest competition coming from Michel Fabrizio, who starts alongside Spies on the grid, half a second behind.
Makoto Tamada's impressive form on his return to competition was in evidence as he followed in third position, ahead of front row sitter Max Biaggi, while Shane Byrne, Tom Sykes and Carlos Checa followed in fifth, sixth and seventh.
Troy Corser continued to maintain his top ten presence in eighth, ahead of Shinya Nakano and Fonsi Nieto, the latter producing his best performance so far this weekend on the DFX Ducati.
Noriyuki Haga, meanwhile, continues to persevere through the pain, albeit down in 19th position.
The first World Superbike race takes place at 11.00GMT.
