Celani Suzuki have become the latest World Superbike Championship team to scale back their efforts in this year's series after confirming they will skip the upcoming round at the Nurburgring.

The Italian team plan to miss the German event with an eye to returning for the final three rounds in Italy, France and Portugal with a more competitive machine following a series of disappointing outings.

Celani Race, who returned to the Superbike top flight this year after a season spent in the Superstock series, began the year with Karl Muggeridge - who will ride a factory Suzuki at the Nurburgring - before switching to Alessandro Polita from Misano onwards.

So far, Celani have scored five points this season, with Muggeridge scoring four and Polita claiming a single point on his seasonal debut.
