WSS: Nannelli, Triumph part ways

Triumph BE1 Racing has confirmed that it has parted ways with rider Gianluca Nannelli with three rounds of the World Supersport Championship remaining.

Nannelli joined the factory Triumph outfit from Althea Honda, but has struggled to match the race pace of team-mate Garry McCoy on the Daytona 675, his best effort of eighth place at Donington Park being overshadowed by the Australian's podium, achieved at the same event.

Scoring points on just four occasions this year and languishing in a lowly 16th overall, both rider and team have thus mutually agreed to end their agreement early.

No replacement has been announced, although Sheridan Morais did enjoy a try out with the team during mid-season testing at Imola and was a star performer on a Yamaha at the recent Brno World Supersport race.
