Sterilgarda: We will finish season

Sterilgarda Ducati has denied rumours it may be forced to curtail its involvement in the 2009 World Superbike Championship because of financial problems.

The team, which has prepared a single machine for Shane Byrne this season, was said to be considering a withdrawal following their home round at Imola, therefore missing the final two races in France and Portugal.

Nonetheless, a team spokesman has refuted the claims to Crash.net, stating the team will be present for Magny-Cours and Portimao, while they are confident they will return to the grid in 2010 too.

Sterilgarda has been one of the series' most successful privateer teams, having attracted the likes of Ruben Xaus and Max Biaggi in recent years. However, despite winning a race in 2008, the team was forced to scale down to just a single Ducati in 2009 due to the economic crisis.

I don't understand this talk of not enough money. :? After all Sterilgarda was only supposed to sponser yamaha italia for a few limited races and we all have seen their name on the yamaha's at every round. You have to wonder if they just wish to spend their money wiser.....

God I don't think I've ever seen so many posts from one guy with so many different names. As for beating Spies on 'shear speed' there aren't any prizes for removing sheep fur sadly. Shame really because maybe Shakey would display more skill with the back end of a sheep. Byrne better than Fabrizio? Not in this life. Ol' Shakes is BSB level and that's it. Sorreee, just an opinion.
