Riders return to action at Imola

The World Superbike riders will get just one shot at reaching Superpole at Imola after track condition problems forced organisers to revise the weekend's schedule.

Supersport action gets underway again at 15.30GMT today following almost four hours of work to give the circuit some grip, prompted by complaints from the World Superbike riders that it was too slippery.

As such, both the Superbike and Supersport riders will be out on track for an hour long free practice session today to familiarise themselves with the circuit, which returns to the schedule this season after five years.

On Saturday, the scheduled Qualifying 2 session will now solely determine who will progress to Superpole later in the day. Superpole will then take place as planned.

The World Superbike riders will be out for FP1 at 16.45GMT.

RawDawg comments that he hopes the track improves and that nobody else crashes and gets 2 'disagrees' in response?? Wow. That's got to be a whole new species of *****.
