Noriyuki Haga and Ducati both have an exceptionally strong record at Magny-Cours, venue for this weekend's penultimate round of the 2009 World Superbike Championship.

Of the twelve races held since Magny-Cours arrived on the calendar in 2003, Haga or Ducati have won ten races.

Haga made his Magny-Cours debut as a satellite Ducati rider in 2004, when he took 2-1 race results.

A switch to Yamaha from 2005-2008 yielded three more race wins and three further podiums, meaning that the Japanese has a total four wins and eight podiums from his ten starts at the French circuit.

Ducati meanwhile has taken seven wins, with no less than six different riders claiming at least one Magny-Cours victory on its machines.

In 2003, Neil Hodgson and team-mate Ruben Xaus took one win apiece, before James Toseland and Haga kept Ducati's perfect record intact in 2004.

Ten Kate Honda's Chris Vermeulen broke the 999 win streak with a race one victory in 2005, but Lorenzo Lanzi returned Ducati to the top in race two.

2006 saw a repeat of that pattern with new Ten Kate rider Toseland winning race one and Ducati hero Troy Bayliss race two.

A double victory for Haga and Yamaha in 2007 marked the only time a Ducati rider has not taken at least one race win at Magny-Cours, and the Japanese made it three in a row for the R1 with victory in race one of last year's event.

However, Bayliss and Ducati narrowly beat Haga in race two, marking the first Magny-Cours win for the 1098.

Haga, who replaced Bayliss at Ducati for 2009, heads into this weekend's event having retaken the title lead by three points from rookie star Ben Spies, who took Haga's place at Yamaha.

Yamaha has not won at Magny-Cours with any rider other than Haga. The factory's best non-Haga finish is a third place by Troy Corser in both 2007 and 2008.

Heading into round 13, Haga has 7 wins, 16 podiums and 3 non-scores, compared with 12 wins, 15 podiums and 5 non-scores for Spies.
