POLL: Who should ride second Aprilia in 2010

Who do you think deserves the chance to join Max Biaggi in the race-winning Aprilia factory team in 2010?
The 2010 World Superbike grid may be far from complete, but there is one available spot that continues to garner more attention than any other.

Indeed, while each of its six factory rivals have confirmed their rider line-ups for 2010, Aprilia Racing continues to hold off deciding who will be joining Max Biaggi in the race winning team next season.

Several riders have been linked with the plum ride on the RSV-4, which won one race and took nine podiums in its maiden season, although Leon Camier arguably remains the most obvious candidate.

Stepping in to replace the injured Shinya Nakano during the final two rounds of the season, the runaway British Superbike champion took some time adapting to the bike and the circuits, but sixth and seventh place finishes on only his second outing would certainly suggest he is capable of even better with more time on the bike.

Despite that, Camier is yet to have secured the ride, with many suggesting he is in competition with MotoGP exile Alex de Angelis. Having lost out on a final chance to stay on the grid in 2010 when Scot Racing withdrew last week, many see Aprilia's delay in announcing a rider as a chance to wait on de Angelis' decision.

Beyond these two, other riders could also be in with a shout, including three-time race winner Ryuichi Kiyonari, who is the highest classified rider to be without a ride for 2010 so far.

Niccolo Canepa is another MotoGP man without a ride for 2010 after a disappointing year on the Pramac Ducati. However, the former Superstock champion has experience of the WSBK paddock and potentially comes with the right passport for the Italian team.

Finally, Alex Hofmann could be rewarded for his behind-the-scenes work on the RSV-4 following two years testing with the team.

But what do you think? Who should get the second Aprilia seat in 2010?

I'm surprised anyone on this board voted for someone other than Leon. The only other logical choice, Alex DeA, was less then brilliant in GP and has upset a lot of people by punting more famous riders off the track in his reckless attempts to get better grid position. His stock is pretty low right now.
