Fittingly, record-breaking rookie WSBK champion Ben Spies has been voted your World Superbike Rider of the Year for 2009.
The American star took the World Superbike Championship by storm this season, winning 14 of the 28 races and claiming Yamaha's very first WSBK crown.
But he had to work hard for it, accidents and technical problems having left Spies a massive 88 points behind Noriyuki Haga
following Kyalami (round six).
A remarkable comeback resulted in Spies leading a world championship for the first time after the Nurburgring (round eleven), but he then lost it again to Haga and began the final round ten points behind his experienced opponent.
Remaining remarkably cool given what was at stake, Spies rose perfectly to the occasion - coolly overturning Haga's advantage to claim his place in WSBK history by six points, during his last event before moving to MotoGP.
Spies won six races more than next-best Haga and leaves WSBK joint 12th on the all-time win list - alongside fellow American superstars John Kocinski and Scott Russell - despite his single season in the class.
You gave Spies an average score of 9 out of 10, compared with 7 out of 10 for runner-up Haga, making the Texan a clear victor in the Crash.net
