Triumph and BE1 Racing have revealed the four riders who will contest the 2010 Supersport World Championship.
The ParkinGO Triumph Factory Team will run Chaz Davies and Jason DiSalvo for the year ahead, while former champion Sebastien Charpentier will make a return to the series to partner David Salom in the ParkinGO Triumph BE1 team.
The announcement that DiSalvo will partner Davies for 2010 comes as something of a surprise with the factory team having previously announced Garry McCoy would partner the Briton.
However, the Australian has left the team by mutual consent giving DiSalvo the chance to secure a ride.
"I'm honoured to be considered by the ParkinGO Triumph Factory Team and to ride for them in world supersport," he said. "I've followed the series over the years and have had my eye on the Triumph for some time now and it looks like an awesome machine. It'll be a good challenge, I've never ridden it before and it'll be interesting to see what it's like.
“People always asked me why I didn't go and race in Europe before, but I didn't want to unless it was in a top-level team. Now I am and I'm really pumped to be going."
Charpentier returns to Supersport, where he has won the title twice in the past, having spent the past two seasons in the World Endurance Championship and he admitted he had missed the challenge in recent years.
"I have always wanted to return!” he said. “I was just missing a challenge! And for me a challenge means winning. This season I'll be racing with a Triumph Daytona in a top team with true professionals. For me it's a great satisfaction, I'd like to thank everyone in Triumph and Giuliano Rovelli's BE1 Racing team for making me an offer to race with them.
“After two years spent looking after talented youngsters and racing in World Endurance, I still feel ready, both physically and mentally, to tackle the Supersport championship. For me the Triumph is a war machine! I've always had an attraction for that bike. Now I'm ready to race it and work with my team to give the best of myself. I'm going to be with them this weekend at Portimao."
