The Echo-CRS Honda team took the first steps towards its maiden World Superbike Championship season after travelling to Spain for testing.
The Italian concern, which this season graduates to Superbikes after competing in the World Supersport Championship last year, was on track with new signing Broc Parkes, who in turn was getting his first chance to sample the Honda CBR1000RR.
The Australian, who switches to Echo-CRS after a season with Kawasaki SRT, was pleased with his first impressions of the bike and the team.
"It's a really nice bike to ride", he said. "I am trying to improve my feeling with the bike and I'm really happy to be a part of this team.”
Team manager Sandro Di Stefano was also feeling buoyant about the test, held around the Almeria circuit, stating Echo-CRS are capable of competing at a high level.
"The results were interesting", he added. "We are working hard to prepare for the 2010 season in the best possible way. I want to thank all of our sponsors for putting us in the condition to build up a team that is ready to compete at the highest level.
“And now, with the tests at Portimao we will face up to the other teams for the first time to see how competitive we are.”
