WSS: Pirro takes charge in Supersport

Michele Pirro joins Ten Kate stablemate Jonathan Rea in leading the way at the end of day two in Portugal
Michele Pirro made it a great day for the Ten Kate Honda team as he powered to the top of the timesheets on the second day of World Supersport testing in Portugal.

The Italian, who enjoyed a respectable maiden season of Supersport racing in 2009, has been a consistent frontrunner so far this weekend as he continues to get acclimatised to his Ten Kate Honda surroundings.

He was the dominant pace setter too, his lap of 1min 47.168secs proving four tenths faster than Friday leader Joan Lascorz, while it was also the quickest time of the test thus far.

Lascorz held onto second, despite a harmless fall, ahead of Parkalgar Honda pair Eugene Laverty and Miguel Praia, while Chaz Davies completed the top five on his Triumph.

Testing concludes tomorrow [Sunday]
