Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam continued to dominate the first World Superbike test of the year at Portimao as they opened up the final day of action by locking out the top two positions once again.
So far, Rea and Haslam have between them topped each session so far, with the latter yet to drop any lower than second position. On this occasion though, Rea took the honours with a last gasp lap time that was just one thousandth of a second quicker than Haslam's.
Ducati Xerox stepped up their pace to end the session third and fourth in the order of Noriyuki Haga and Michel Fabrizio, but while both riders enjoyed stints at the top of the timesheets, they would end up six tenths behind Rea and Haslam.
Max Biaggi and Leon Camier created an Aprilia sandwich, with Cal Crutchlow caught between them in sixth, while Sylvain Guintoli was eighth best, ahead of Althea Ducati duo Shane Byrne and Carlos Checa.
Elsewhere, Troy Corser was 11th for BMW, although team-mate Ruben Xaus was a lowly 17th after suffering his second crash of the weekend. Chris Vermeulen was the quickest Kawasaki rider in 13th, while James Toseland was 14th on the Yamaha.
