Last year's World Supersport Championship runner-up Eugene Laverty reminded rivals he will be the man to beat this season after snatching the fastest time of the Portimao three-day test.
The Irishman had cut a relatively low profile over the course of the weekend thus far, but stepped up in the concluding session to set a time of 1min 45.104secs.
As well as being the fastest lap of the session, Laverty's time was also the best of the weekend as a whole, the Parkalgar Honda man going a tenth faster than Kawasaki's Joan Lascorz.
Despite being edged late on, the Spaniard has nonetheless done enough over the test to confirm himself as a title threat this year, as did Michele Pirro, who did a fine job on his full debut with the Ten Kate Honda team to come away third quickest.
Laverty's team-mate Miguel Praia was also impressively fast around his home circuit in fourth, ahead of Katsuaki Fujiwara, whose best time from Friday was enough to see him end the test fifth overall.
As was the case throughout the test, Chaz Davies was the fastest of the Triumph quartet, although the Briton will be disappointed to be 1.5secs off the leaders. He was just ahead of Fabien Foret on the Loreznini Kawasaki and BE1 team-mates David Salom and Jason Di Salvo.
Danilo Dell'Omo completed the top ten on his Kuja Honda, while the Italian's team-mate Paola Cazzola was a respectable 13th, just a tenth behind two-time champion Sebastien Charpentier.
