Joan Lascorz will head into the opening round of the 2010 World Supersport Championship as the tentative favourite after sweeping to the quickest time during testing at Phillip Island.
Fastest in three of the four sessions, Lascorz emerged with a comfortable three tenth buffer to Kenan Sofuoglu
to ensure Kawasaki got the better of its Honda rivals.
Topping the fourth and final session of the weekend, although Lascorz didn't improve his lap time, his best of 1min 34.374secs does put him in good stead ahead of the opening round at the same circuit in just four days time.
Sofuoglu, the 2009 Phillip Island race winner, ended the test with the second best time, marginally ahead of Honda counterpart Eugene Laverty and team-mate Michele Pirro, while Katsuaki Fujiwara and Fabien Foret backed up Lascorz on their ZX-6Rs.
With no other rider infiltrating the top six throughout the weekend, Massimo Roccoli emerged as 'best of the rest' in seventh, ahead of former champion Sebastien Charpentier, the Frenchman ending up eighth despite reaching the top ten in only one of the four sessions.
Robbin Harms and David Salom ended up ninth and tenth, ahead of Chaz Davies and Miguel Praia, while Gino Rea brought his first official World Supersport outing to a close with the 14th best time.
