WSS: Harms Benjan Honda sign Chesaux

Former grand prix rider Bastien Chesaux defects to the World Supersport Championship with Harms Benjan Honda
Bastien Chesaux will make his World Supersport Championship debut at Portimao after inking a deal to join Harms Benjan Honda for 2010.

The former grand prix racer, who finished 26th in the 2009 250GP standings, will race alongside team owner-rider Robbin Harms, who proved the competitiveness of the package at the Phillip Island season opener last month by finishing seventh.

Chesaux has been seen on Supersport machinery this year after appearing during pre-season testing in January riding an MG Competition-prepared Yamaha R6. However, when a potential deal with the French team fell through, Chesaux began negotiating with Harms Benjan instead.

Chesaux's entry is likely to provide a small boost for the Supersport series after it made its seasonal debut with just 17 riders in Australia.
