WSS: Fujiwara, Lascorz ahead for Kawasaki

Katsuaki Fujiwara sets the fastest time during opening free practice at Valencia, closely followed by team-mate Joan Lascorz
Kawasaki have come out fighting for the third round of the 2010 World Supersport Championship as Katsuaki Fujiwara and Joan Lascorz dominated opening free practice at Valencia.

The Spanish-based team conducted a lot of its testing around the Ricardo Tormo circuit over the winter, a fact that showed when both Fujiwara and Lascorz pulled a significant margin over their rivals during the opening few minutes.

In the end it was Fujiwara who out paced Lascorz by a tenth of a second, although both riders were more than half a second faster than third place man Chaz Davies on the Triumph.

Having languished towards the bottom of the top ten for some time, Kenan Sofuoglu emerged fourth, ahead of Parkalgar Honda's Eugene Laverty and Michele Pirro.

Triumph pair David Salom and Jason Di Salvo kept close company in seventh and eighth, with Supersport veterans Massimo Roccoli and Robbin Harms completing the top ten.
