Kenan Sofuoglu completed a dominant day for the Ten Kate Racing team by claiming World Supersport pole position for the fourth round of the season at Assen.
Together with its success with Jonathan Rea in the Superbike category, Sofuoglu was dominant in Superports to claim pole position by a clear half second from Eugene Laverty.
Having been comfortably quickest in each session leading up to final qualifying, Sofuoglu was never headed throughout, his pole position coming on a day when Ten Kate Racing secured the top spot in Superbike, Supersport, Superstock 1000 and Superstock 600 classes.
Sofuoglu is also now well placed to assume the championship lead after Joan Lascorz, who is only one point ahead of the Turk, could only manage fourth, behind Laverty and Michele Pirro.
Fabien Foret starts from a strong fifth on the privateer Kawasaki, while Matthieu Lagrive out-qualified his Triumph team-mates for the first time to go sixth fastest.
Katsuaki Fujiwara, David Salom and Chaz Davies – who had been provisionally fifth heading into the session – followed in seventh, eighth and ninth, while Robbin Harms would just deny Gino Rea a first top ten start in tenth.
