Katsuaki Fujiwara marked his return to World Supersport competition with an impressive run to provisional pole position at Brno.

The Japanese rider was forced to skip the previous event at Misano after contracting appendicitis, but was straight back to form around the Czech circuit as he dominated with a lap time almost a second faster than Eugene Laverty.

Having set the pace in free practice, Laverty split the Kawasakis in second place, while Joan Lascorz recovered from his fall earlier in the day to set the third best time.
