Troy Corser says he will undergo a test at Mugello this week in order to evaluate his fitness for the next round of the World Superbike Championship at Silverstone.
Corser skipped the Brno event after receiving concussion and chest injuries in accident during Q1, a withdrawal that brought his perfect scoring record so far this season to an end.
Although the Australian is certain he will be fit enough to compete at the upcoming Silverstone event in three weeks time, he will nonetheless undergo a precautionary test this week to measure his recovery progress.
“I would have loved to race, but it was obviously the right decision not to ride the bike this weekend,” he said. “I am feeling sore, but I am feeling better at the same time. The bruising is painful, but it is only a question of time before am I back to 100 per cent fitness.
“Hopefully by the end of next week I will be able to get back to some light training. We plan to test at Mugello on the Tuesday before Silverstone for a final check to make sure I am physically strong enough, but I am sure I will be fit and ready for Silverstone.”
