Pedercini to remain with Kawasaki for 2011

Team Pedercini will stay as a Kawasaki satellite outfit into 2011 for both the Superbike and Superstock categories.Kawasaki will continue to have a substantial presence on the World Superbike Championship grid in 2011 after Team Pedercini announced it is extending its customer relationship.

The privateer Italian outfit has been a WSBK mainstay since making its full-time switch to the series in 2002, Pedercini competing with Ducati until 2008 when it switched to Kawasaki machinery.

While success has been fairly limited on the Superbike stage, with a best Kawasaki result of ninth position coming courtesy of Ayrton Badovini in 2008, its collaboration with the Japanese manufacturer has nonetheless delivered strong Superstock 1000 results, including fourth overall with Javier Fores last season.

For this reason, Pedercini will continue with Kawasaki next year in both the Superbike and Superstock categories where it is looking to capitalise on the forthcoming 2011 specification ZX-10R Ninja.

So far this year, Roger Lee Hayden and Matteo Baiocco have notched up ten points between them for Pedercini Kawasaki in Superbikes, while Danilo Petrucci is ninth in the Superstock standings.

I don't see the problem people have with the team. Are they on competitive bikes? No. But they are an experienced team willing to give a shot to riders others won't. I say good for them, they help make WSBK more diverse and put more bikes on the grid. Good luck Pedercini.
