WSS: Lowry gets Silverstone wild-card

Former grand prix winner Jeremy McWilliams is to manage a wild-card entry for fellow Ulsterman Ian Lowry at the Silverstone World Supersport round.

Lowry will ride an IFS/Lowe Yamaha R6.

"I'm really excited about being back on a Supersport bike again," said Lowry. "I have a couple of loyal sponsors who have helped put together this fantastic opportunity to race on the world stage, and I have to say a big thanks to everyone who has made this happen."

Good news to see Lowry out there. McWilliams already has a hand in the career of Superstock 600 rider Josh Elliott - maybe a fulltime 2 bike team in 2011 if sponsorship can be sorted?
