WSS: Quarmby tipped for German wild-card

While Michele Pirro is expected to return from injury at the Nurburgring, Ronan Quarmby is set to remain on a Ten Kate prepared bike.
Ronan Quarmby is set to get another chance to shine on the World Supersport stage after being offered a wild-card outing at the Nurburgring on a Ten Kate prepared Honda.

The South African made his belated WSS debut as part of the multiple title-winning Dutch team at Silverstone after his original appearance on home soil at Kyalami was scuppered by injury.

Replacing the injured Michele Pirro on that occasion, with the Italian expected to be back on the CBR600RR for next month's event, Bike Racing is reporting that Quarmby will ride alongside Pirro and Kenan Sofuoglu in Germany.

Quarmby is thought to be on the list of potentials to join the Ten Kate team in 2011 as it looks increasingly likely that Sofuoglu will defect to Moto2 next year.

the honda he rode in superbike was a beast, all power and no cornering ability, it was only checa that could get it to Win, that year! still that honda squad has setup issues even with the "Boy Wonder" Rea riding the wheels off it. the Moto2 bikes will be perfect for his style - all corner speed. He'll have to ride to the absolute limit to get even a top ten, though
