Camier to be operated on next week

Aprilia reveals that Leon Camier will be operated on when he returns to England next week.
Leon Camier will undergo surgery on his broken scaphoid as early as next week, Aprilia has confirmed.

The Briton broke the bone in his right wrist when he high-sided and landed awkwardly during Q1 at the Nurburgring, Camier going on to require three stitches in his gashed knee as well.

He will now travel back to England where he will go under the knife to correct the delicate injury, Aprilia adding it is uncertain over whether Camier will return to action before the end of the season.

The injury and subsequent time out is a bitter blow for Camier, who was looking to bring a strong rookie season to a close in style having taken to the podium on three occasions already this season.

Even if he doesn't return before the year is out, Camier is expected to be confirmed alongside Max Biaggi in an unchanged rider line-up for 2011.

Gutted for Camier! He's had a good season so far and showed great potential already. Heres hoping he can make the last round of the season at least. Not good for aprilia either, and obviously this means one less rider who can take points of haslam because it seems he wouldnt be taking any points from biaggi anyway.
