Leon Haslam's hopes of winning the 2010 World Superbike title have taken a potentially decisive blow after crashing out at the start of the first race in Germany.

The British rider came off his Suzuki at turn four in an accident that would also cause Troy Corser to crash, while James Toseland and Cal Crutchlow were heavily delayed.

Though attended to by medical teams on the circuit, both Haslam and Corser were able to walk off track as the race was aborted.

Haslam and Corser will make the restart, but the title contender is now believed to be nursing a hand injury.
