WSS: Rea excluded from second place

Gino Rea has his second place finish at the Nurburgring taken away from him due to a breach of regulations.
Gino Rea has been excluded from the World Supersport race at the Nurburgring after his Intermoto Czech Honda was found to be in breach of the regulations.

The youngster had been celebrating his career-best result of second place after a thrilling exchange between himself and eventual race winner Eugene Laverty around the German circuit.

However, technical checks after the race found the CBR600RR to not conform, though the official reason hasn't been revealed.

As well as proving a bitter disappointment for Rea, who had pushed Laverty from start-to-finish, it also proves detrimental to Laverty's title hopes as Kenan Sofuoglu is promoted to second place.

It means the Turk's advantage in the standings grows to 13 points and means he can still finish second behind Laverty in the final two races and win the title.

Broc Parkes is also promoted to third on his return to Supersport competition with Kawasaki.

An illegal device in electronics is the excuse, sounds very like a nasty Ten kate protest, Laverty and Gino smoked the big team and they cant take it. They were not expecting to lose the championship like this.
