Smrz shows off Superpole prowess again

Jakub Smrz starts up at the front of the field once again as he qualifies second on the B&G Aprilia at Imola.
Fresh from the announcement he will revert back to Ducati machinery in 2011, Jakub Smrz showed he still has some unfinished business on the B&G Aprilia as he claimed second position on the grid at Imola.

Very close to making it a second career WSBK pole position, Smrz would fall just short of his target by less than a tenth as he set up his second front row start of the season instead.

Nonetheless, despite missing out on the top spot, Smrz was delighted with his performance given he was yet to ride the RSV-4 in the wet since the team made the switch at Brno.

"I'm really happy with the result, we did a good job the last couple days. I found a good feeling with the bike and with the track both in the wet and in the dry, despite having raced only once here last season.

“This is also my best result since the switch to Aprilia, hopefully will ride two good races tomorrow as well.”
