The latest round of the World Superbike Championship testing is underway at Motorland Aragon as a number of teams and riders take the time to get acquainted with the new-for-2011 circuit.

Having skipped the most recent tests at Magny-Cours, Althea Ducati and Aprilia Alitalia were back on circuit, with Carlos Checa celebrating his forthcoming return to MotoGP with Pramac Ducati this weekend by setting the early pace.

The Spaniard is currently Althea's only confirmed rider for 2011, the Italian team set to take up the role of 'official' Ducati representative in the absence of the factory team, though Lorenzo Baroni - who will be Althea's entry in the Superstock 1000 ranks - was quick on the Superbike.

With a new contract in his back pocket, Max Biaggi was on track again for Aprilia, alongside Leon Camier - coming back from injury - and test rider Alex Hofmann.

Kawasaki are also present, with Tom Sykes continuing to impress on the new ZX-10R by setting the third fastest time in the morning, ahead of both BMW riders Leon Haslam and Troy Corser, who are trialling the 2011 S1000RR for the first time this week. Noriyuki Haga is testing too with the PATA Aprilia team.

In the Supersport ranks, Fabien Foret and Broc Parkes are testing their Kawasakis, alongside Chaz Davies and Luca Scassa on their Triumphs.
