WSS: Kawasaki completes line-up

"I know many riders want to ride the official Ninja ZX-6R so I am a little lucky to be the one chosen" - David Salom.
Kawasaki has completed its 2011 factory World Supersport line-up by announcing that David Salom will join Broc Parkes Broc Parkes and David Salom at the Provec Motocard.com team.

Salom finished sixth in the 2010 championship for ParkinGO BR1 Triumph.

“I'm very happy with the opportunity. I know many riders want to ride the official Ninja ZX-6R so I am a little lucky to be the one chosen," he said. "I hope my experience in World Supersport can be a good point to add to the team and next year improve my results a little. I want to say thanks to Kawasaki and Motocard.com for giving me this great opportunity.”

"David has enough experience, and the correct attitude to understand the opportunity he will have. He will listen and learn to the advice offered by the team," commented team manager Guim Roda. "That way he will find the maturity in his riding style to fight for the podium every race. We are all ready to go for the Championship next year.”

Parkes, already confirmed as a 2011 rider, finished this season with the team and is looking forward to a full campaign.

“It's a great feeling to be riding for Kawasaki in 2011 and we have already done good work in testing, finding new set-ups to take forward to next year,." said the Australian. "This is a great opportunity for me and both the bike and team are well proven in this class. We will be a strong package together in 2011.”

"For WSS, we are very happy to work with Broc Parkes, who was ex-WSB rider for us, and along with David Salom there is a big racing passion and high motivation to succeed next year," stated Ichiro Yoda, KME Racing Manager. "We feel confidence with them and the Provec team management to achieve our target of winning that championship.”

I thought this ride was Gino Rea's for the taking but apparently not, Salom is a decent rider who will run top 10. I guess Gino is set to stay where he is with Intermoto Czech for next season then or could a return to Ten Kate be on the cards if they get enough money to run in WSS.
