Silverstone offers two-for-one deal

Silverstone offers a special deal where fans can get free BSB tickets when purchasing them for the 2011 WSBK event
Silverstone has announced a special ticket deal which will be available to fans visiting the annual Carole Nash Motorcycle Live event at the NEC in Birmingham from 27 November to 5 December.

Visitors to the stand who purchase weekend tickets to attend the 2011 World Superbike Championship event will also pick up a free weekend ticket to visit the British Superbike Championship event.

Fans of MotoGP will also benefit from a special offer on tickets for the AirAsia British Grand Prix, which will be offered to show visitors with 20 per cent off – making a weekend ticket as little as £56.

Jorge Lorenzo's MotoGP title winning machine and a BMW Motorrad Motorsport 1000 RR World Superbike will be on display on the stand while fans visiting the stand will be offered the chance to win a range of prizes by setting lap times around the new Grand Prix Circuit on an X-Box kiosk.

Hats off to Silverstone with this offer during hard economic times for all of us. Since I normally attend both events that's good news for me! I think Silverstone are trying very hard promoting motorcycling with special offers like this to keep us two wheel fans as happy as possible. If this attracts more fans to either event it can only be good from a sponsors perspective. The Silverstone tarmac itself is what it is and for sure, some like it and some don't. Personally I think the viewing is good so long as you have a grandstand seat. The BSB in September is always a great late season event and is a good oppotunity for our younger BSB boys to get a chance to experience a full Grand Prix circuit which can only help those moving up the ladder to the international scene. If all the changes are in place at Snetterton for 2011 BSB then that will be one for the diary too!

That's disappointing - I hoped it was going to be a trackday offer. Not so stupid or altruistic a move this .... Lot of people were unhappy about the BSB Silverstone round or simply stayed away because the weather was crrap. Which wasn't Silverstone's fault of course. (Unlike the surly (allegedly) illegal immigrants they use as 'security' who *are* Silverstone's fault). So, predicting a low take up of tickets next year, this is a pretty fly move.
