Max Biaggi and Marco Melandri will occupy the same piece of tarmac for the first time in five years this week as both Aprilia and Yamaha take to Phillip Island for further World Superbike testing.
With Biaggi invigorating his motorcycling career with a 2010 title win aboard the Aprilia RSV-4, former MotoGP rival Melandri will look to do the same next season when he joins the ranks with Yamaha.
Having already tested the R1 during an outing at Valencia, Melandri and Yamaha Sterilgarda team-mate Eugene Laverty will now travel to Australia to undergo further testing.
However, all eyes will be on how Melandri fares against countryman Biaggi as they square up for the first time, Aprilia having decided to make the trip to Australia to begin work on its 2011 machine.
The three-day test, which also includes Leon Camier, gets underway on November 30th.
