Yoshimura reveals Phillip Island WSBK entry

The Japanese operation is plotting further outings in 2011 as it looks to break onto the international scene.
Yoshimura Suzuki will return to the World Superbike Championship for the opening round of the 2011 season at Phillip Island after agreeing a single-race outing with Josh Waters.

The Japanese team made a single appearance in the series at Monza last year, though scheduled outings at Imola and Magny-Cours were later scrapped due to financial constraints.

Nonetheless, Yoshimura, which has enjoyed considerable success on the domestic Japanese scene in recent years, has revealed it will compete in Australia next month with local rider Waters.

The wild-card will also signal a debut WSBK outing for Waters, who won the Australian Superbike Championship in 2009, while he was also lined up to ride for the Rockstar Makita Suzuki team in the United States last year before injuries sustained in a high-speed accident interrupted his season.

Yoshimura had previously intended to compete in a handful of WSBK races with Yukio Kagayama last year ahead of a proposed full-season campaign in 2011, but was forced to revise its plans towards the end of the year.

Nonetheless, a brief note on the team's website reveals that it is planning to enter more rounds of the World Superbike Championship in 2011.

staring is riding for pedercini in world superstock1000. deal was done a while ago. maxwell was on the inside line so dont know how he was taken out, watch it carefully. josh was out for majority of the year so u cant compare anyone to him. before he was injured he demolished them at darwin to make back points. herfoss is making his debut on the superbike for suzuki and u cant do wildcard and aussie stuff. allerton was beat fair and square by josh for the championship in 09 and doesnt ride a suzuki.

@ mr sochack i disagree with u fully. first of all josh has been riding a suzuki for 2 years and staring and maxwell havent. staring is already signed for a kawasaki team so why would u even mention him. Maxwell is very quick at the island but he is only 0.001 quicker then waters, and maxwell had his chance in moto2 and wrecked it.josh can win at any track in australia where as wayne can only win at the island unless its wet. josh could go to any track in the world and be fast!! sorry for the novel but just a few facts
