Kawasaki will become the first World Superbike team to hit the track in 2011 as it begins a four-day outing at Sepang, three weeks before official testing gets underway.

A handful of teams will participate in private testing before the first group test at Portimao on January 26th, with Kawasaki taking a number of riders to Malaysia as it continues to hone the new ZX-10R.

Amongst those taking part in the test will be Chris Vermeulen, who is set to return to action following almost six months off through injury, while ex-MotoGP rider Gabor Talmacsi will be on the privateer Pedercini machine.

Also testing this week is all-new WSBK outfit Liberty Ducati, which will be out in Guadix with riders Sylvain Guintoli and Jakub Smrz.

Just ahead of the group test, Ten Kate Honda will be present at Motorland Aragon for the first time on January 20th having missed a post-season outing there.

Most teams will then be present for the Portimao group test, though there will be a notable absentee in BMW, who will instead travel to the Eastern Creek circuit in Australia to get some track time.
