The countdown to the opening round of the 2011 World Superbike Championship is officially underway with the start of a three-day test at Portimao.

In all, 16 of the 21 confirmed Superbike riders are present in Portugal to prepare for the new season, as well as 21 Supersport riders.

It'll be a new look grid for 2011 with no Ducati Xerox, though the returning Castrol Honda, the invigorated Kawasaki and new Ducati, Aprilia and BMW outfits promise to keep the grid colourful.
