Samsung Crescent opts for Silverstone outing

Samsung Crescent Suzuki decides against making a World Superbike wild-card at Donington Park in favour of an outing at Silverstone later in the year.
Samsung Crescent Suzuki has confirmed it will not compete as a wild-card at the upcoming Donington Park round of the World Superbike Championship, but will instead compete at Silverstone.

Fresh from the announcement that the team had acquired a major new backer in the form of electronics giants Samsung, as well as a second rider in Jon Kirkham, the team will now focus on getting both bikes ready for the British Superbike opener at Brands Hatch in April.

As such, the original intention to race at Donington Park has been shelved in favour of an outing on the world stage at Silverstone in July.

The newly branded Samsung Crescent Suzuki team is currently taking part in its first test of the year at Cartagena, with riders Kirkham and ex-MotoGP rider John Hopkins.

Lorenzo.....You're a Dufus. He's wearing a thick jacket. I had the pleasure of hanging out with John at the LA Supercross. I can tell you he's looking real healthy and strong and I doubt he weighs more than 138lbs tops. Please, just wish him well guys,

I think most folk probably do wish him well (well, the sane ones who enjoy the racing anyway) Mark. But now Lorenzo's said it, in that pic Hopper's face does look a bit fuller, maybe less 'drawn'. That's a good thing, right? Better be at least: I'm expecting great things and have him in my MCN FRR team :p
