Haga raises arm concerns ahead of race

The Japanese rider is hopeful the return of an old injury will not hurt his chances after qualifying fifth at Donington Park.
Noriyuki Haga says he is pleased with his fifth position on the grid at Donington Park, but has raised concerns that the cold conditions are causing pains in a former arm injury.

The Japanese rider, in his second event for PATA Racing, made big strides between the sessions to ease into the final Superpole session.

However, while his progress was stymied by Max Biaggi, who blocked him at the hairpin on his fastest lap, the multiple race winner made no mention of his rival, Haga going on to out-qualify his Aprilia counterpart regardless.

Even so, Haga admits he is worried the colder than usual conditions are prompting an old injury – ironically sustained at Donington Park in 2009 – to resurface.

”We've done a great work all weekend long, reaching a good set-up to face the round with. We still have a few little details to work on and we'll do this during the warm-up, when we'll try to chose the best tyre to use.

“Hopefully my forearm pain won't put a strain on the races. It's probably caused by a fracture I suffered here a few years ago and with this cold is much easier to feel some aches."

Say what you will buBiaggi factually blocked Melandri AND Haga. He has always been a poor sport, and almost killed Vale in 01 but elbowing him off track at 160mph. He's an elitist "the emperor" whatever. He's dirty because he has to he to be up front. Argie about that, I'm moving on :P
