Eugene Laverty is confident he can put a few 'difficult rounds' behind him and challenge for victory again in the eighth round of the World Superbike Championship at Brno.
Following his double victory at Monza in May, Laverty is disappointed that he has been able to get back onto the podium since, though the Irishman has finished inside the top six for five of the last six races.
Nonetheless, having solved a 'wheelie issue', Laverty feels as though he is well positioned to fight for victory, or at least a podium, at Brno this weekend.
"The last few rounds have been difficult for me. I've been struggling with a wheelie issue, but that should be resolved now. Brno is a nice flowing circuit which suits my bike so I'm confident I'll be back in a position to fight for a win.
“I feel as positive heading to Brno as I did before Monza so hopefully that's a good omen. I won't be satisfied with anything less a podium!"
Laverty is currently fourth in the WSBK standings, 49 points behind Marco Melandri but 21 points ahead of Leon Camier.
