Noriyuki Haga has put himself in a good position to challenge for a podium at the Nurburgring after just missing the front row on the PATA Aprilia.

The Japanese rider, who scored one of his two wins at the German circuit last season, enjoyed a substantial improvement after tweaking the suspension on the Aprilia RSV-4, leaping from a provisional 13th to grab fifth on the grid.

Well ahead of the factory Aprilia of Leon Camier - who starts 13th -, Haga was pleased with his efforts, though he fears the potential for changeable weather conditions will mix things up a bit come race day regardless.
