Gary Mason will persevere with development of the 2012-specification Kawasaki ZX-10R at Silverstone as MSS Colchester look to get a head-start on their rivals.
Having missed out on a spot in the BSB title showdown, MSS Colchester elected to convert the current ZX-10R to the specifications stipulated by the forthcoming 2012 regulations for Donington Park.
Though Mason didn't score in either race at Donington Park, a recent test at Silverstone – venue for this weekend's penultimate round – has given him greater confidence on the machine.
“It was good to get out at Silverstone last week, you can concentrate on making changes and not be chasing lap times. The lads spent some time on the fuel mapping side to make it a bit more user friendly, so getting on and off the throttle was tamed.
“It was definitely less vicious and more progressive. I'm excited for this weekend to be honest, let's hope the weather stays dry and we can get some decent results given the spec of the bike.”
Team-mate Ian Lowry, who debuted for MSS Colchester at Donington Park, will continue with the current specification Kawasaki ZX-10R.
