Jonathan Rea says he cannot wait to get back on the rejuvenated Castrol Honda at Magny-Cours, less than a week after his superb performance at Imola.

Rea and his CBR1000RR, newly-equipped with fly-by-wire technology, scored the manufacturer's best result since Assen with a victory in the first race, while the Ulsterman was only denied an almost-certain double win by a technical issue.

Nonetheless, with just a week between races, Rea has the chance make amends almost straight at Magny-Cours, host of the season's penultimate event.

Though he concedes that the team will be 'starting from scratch again' as they continue to refine the revised bike, Rea has high hopes of proving a front runner once again in France.

"I'm really looking forward to getting back on the bike again at Magny-Cours this weekend as I'm still buzzing from the win in Imola last Sunday. It'll be good to continue the progress that we made in Italy but we're under no illusions about it being easy.

"The Magny-Cours circuit has different characteristics, surface and grip levels to Imola, so we'll be starting from scratch again. But it would certainly be nice to get back on the podium to make up for the disappointment we had in race two last weekend. The win in Imola just underlined everything I love about riding the bike - especially winning on it."
