Portimao Circuit named WSBK Organiser of the Year
The Portimao circuit in Portugal has been named as winner of the 2011 Superbike Organiser Award.

Paolo Flammini, CEO of Infront Motor Sports, declared: “I wish to express my warmest and sincerest congratulations to the AIA circuit management and all its staff, headed by Paulo Pinheiro, who did a fantastic job in 2011 and who demonstrated that they are fully behind our championship.”

I agree Wsbk-fan.....we were also there this year, it was our third time. Each year the facilities for spectators have diminished.... the big screens have gone (although they were only hooked up to Eurosport anyway, at times were showing totally unrelated sports during practice), catering out on circuit was down to just 2 booths even on raceday, used to be English translation but not any more etc...but the circuit is spectacular and the price is ridiculously cheap so its worth tolerating the odd inconvenience and go prepared to look after yourself.
