Sylvain Guintoli says he is pleased to see Crescent Racing making the step up to the World Superbike Championship, three years after he raced with them in the British series.
Having built his career in prototype racing, Guintoli was a star acquisition ahead of the 2009 British Superbike Championship, the Frenchman making the switch from MotoGP in an effort to establish a new career path.
Winning on his debut, though Guintoli's season was hindered by a leg injury just three rounds in, his efforts were enough to earn him a move to the World Superbike stage, first with Suzuki Alstare and now with Effenbert-Liberty Ducati.
Now Crescent will follow Guintoli in joining the international stage for 2012, the former MotoGP rider confident the team will be fast from the off.
"I rode with them in 2009, in the British Superbike Championship, it was a great time so for sure they're going to be strong next year, they will fight at the front. I'm happy, we'll meet at the track and I will beat them! I always kept in touch with them because I'm based in England too, it's nice to have a good friendship and then fight on the track."
