Biaggi creating a 'new team' for 2012

"The most important task before Christmas... to create with Gigi Dall Igna my new team in order to attack the 2012 World Championship" - Max Biaggi.
2010 World Superbike champion Max Biaggi is aiming to assemble his new group of Aprilia team members in time for Christmas.

The Italian's former team manger Francesco Guidotti and crew chief Giovanni Sandi, plus some mechanics, are heading for pastures new in 2012.

Guidotti is said to be joining Pramac in MotoGP, while the others are rumoured to be involved in Giampiero Sacchi's proposed Ioda Racing CRT MotoGP project.

Biaggi - who has recently been in New York to present the 2012 Pirelli calendar, then travelled to Qatar for an Aprilia promotional event - wrote on his official website:

“Now I expect the most important task before Christmas, to create with [Aprilia's Gigi] Dall Igna, my new team in order to attack the 2012 World Championship.”

According to GPone.com, Enrico Folegnani - who stood in as crew chief for Biaggi during post-season testing - has turned down the role for the 2012 season.

Irishman Eugene Laverty will ride alongside Biaggi next year.

It is interesting, lot of people know nothing about this thing but they immediately see Biaggi as reason why his crew is leaving. It is Sandi who had dispute with Aprilia, and as a result he left this factory and together with him few more people. That is real story, it is not about Biaggi! And about Biaggi - during his career he had a lot of teammates - f.e. Checa, Tamada, Hayden, Kagayama, Xaus, Nakano, Camier. Only Hayden defeated him in very special year 2005. Do you really think Biaggi was always better because of some technical advantage?! Who is Biaggi, and who is Camier? Biaggi does not need any advantage to beat rider like Camier...
