Effenbert Liberty Ducati rider Sylvain Guintoli will miss at least a day of test mileage at Phillip Island after falling foul of a virus, while David Salom has also been sidelined by injury.
The Frenchman, who finished sixth in the overall standings last season, was eighth quickest on the opening day of the unofficial test, but a virus will keep him off the bike on the second day.
"During the night I was infected by a virus, I cannot concentrate at all and feel like I'm drunk! I hope I will be better for Wednesday.”
Guintoli isn't the only rider missing the second day of testing around the Australian circuit, with Pedercini Kawasaki's David Salom resting his injured hand after a spill on Monday, while John Hopkins is returning to the United States to seek consultation on the hand he fractured in his fall.
