A rule change announced on the eve of this weekend's 2012 World Superbike season-opener signals the end of aggregate race results, in the event of a re-started race.

An FIM statement, following a meeting of the Superbike Commission, read as follows:

"1.27.4 CONDITIONS FOR THE RE-STARTED RACE WILL BE AS FOLLOWS: The last paragraph e. is amended as follows, so that the results of the last restarted race will be the final race classification:

"e. The final race classification will be established according to the position and the [consolidated] number of laps of each rider at the time he crossed the finish line at the end of the last part of the race. Provisions of Art. 1.25.4 will apply."
