John Hopkins is confident of reaching near 100% fitness for his delayed 2012 Crescent Suzuki World Superbike debut, in round two at Imola, which starts at the end of this month.

Hopper suffered further fractures to his right hand during a highside accident in testing, shortly before last month's Phillip Island season opener.

The injuries were to the same hand that struggled to recover from fractures last season, ultimately resulting in part of a finger being amputated.

Hopkins wrote on his Twitter page (@JHopper21): "Recovery Update: Hand movement & strength is progressing really well! Expecting to be near 100% fitness for Round 2 Imola : )"

Josh Brookes rode in place of BSB title runner-up Hopkins at Phillip Island, finishing 16th and 15th. Regular Crescent rider Leon Camier claimed 17-12 race finishes.
