Following the announcement that Effenbert Liberty Racing will run a fourth WSBK Ducati from round two at Imola onwards, the team has now abandoned its planned FIM Superstock 1000 challenge.

Canadian Brett McCormick, who was to be one of Effenbert's STK riders, has been promoted to the new WSBK seat, but there will now be no place for Federico Sandi.

"This is our corporate choice, and at this point, it should be interpreted only as a means of focusing all energy of the Effenbert Liberty Racing Team to support our four riders in World Superbike Championship, Sylvain Guintoli, Jakub Smrz, Maxime Berger and Brett McCormick, in the best way," said team owner Mario Bertuccio.

"The engagement of the youngster Federico Sandi is therefore officially brought to an end, however, we are going to give him our support as we strongly believe in his talent."
