Damp weather conditions have ensured the order for the second qualifying session of the weekend at Monza remains unchanged from that of Q1, with three of the seven-strong Ducati contingent left out of Superpole.
A slippery track surface from the start ensured improvements would be unlikely and while the riders would get increasingly close to their Q1 best during the closing stages of the session, nobody would improve.
As such, for the second consecutive weekend, those outside the top sixteen after Q1 will not make it through into Superpole, including Ducati riders Lorenzo Zanetti, Niccolo Canepa and Maxime Berger on their respective PATA, Red Devils and Effenbert Liberty 1098Rs.
Joining them on the sidelines will be Hiroshi Aoyama, the ex-MotoGP rider still yet to crack Superpole since making his WSBK debut with Honda this year, while Leandro Mercado, Mark Aitchison and Sergio Gadea also have their grid positions firmed in 21st, 22nd and 23rd respectively.
The session itself was topped by Eugene Laverty with a 1min 43.571, just over a second off Michel Fabrizio's Q1 topping time, while Tom Sykes, Max Biaggi, Jonathan Rea and Ayrton Badovini completed the top five positions.
