Mason replaces Salom at Pedercini

Gary Mason follows Peter Hickman and Loris Baz in making a one-off appearance in the World Superbike Championship aboard the Pedercini Kawasaki.
Following FIXI Crescent Suzuki's confirmation that Peter Hickman will ride its vacant World Superbike at Donington Park this weekend, his BSB counterpart Gary Mason has been announced with Pedercini Kawasaki.

The former AMA and current BSB rider has been tapped as a last minute replacement for David Salom, the Spaniard injuring his shoulder in an accident during the opening laps of race one at Monza.

Though Pedercini hinted it would focus its attentions on Leandro Mercado, it has since decided to give Mason a chance to compete with the WSBK regulars around his local circuit.

Mason currently races with Quattro Plant Kawasaki in the British Superbike Championship.

@Nick636 - why would Stuart Easton want to ride a Pedercini Kawasaki? And why would Paul Bird release him? Mason was available and was able to get released / permission to ride. Good luck to him. Maybe this bike will suit him better?
